Restoring the Function & Appearance of Your Smile

Missing or damaged teeth can affect how you chew, speak, and smile. It may also result in jaw discomfort due to your muscles adapting to the empty space.

Crowns and bridges are an option to help restore your oral health and your smile. If you think you could benefit from a crown or bridge, schedule an appointment with our team.

Crowns vs. Bridges

A dental crown, also known as a cap, is a hollow artificial tooth made to fit over a damaged tooth. The crown can help protect the tooth from further damage and restore its shape and appearance.

A bridge is a row of artificial teeth with a crown at each end used to fill in the gap of one or more missing teeth. The crown at each end is used to secure the bridge into place using your natural teeth. Alternatively, a bridge can be secured by dental implants.

Both crowns and bridges are a form of restorative dentistry to help revitalize your smile.

Taking Care of Your Crown or Bridge

A crown or bridge can last for a long time, depending on how well you take care of it. Just like your natural teeth need to be brushed and flossed every day, so does your crown or bridge. You should also avoid biting down on hard objects or using your teeth to open or cut things.
